Series of talks on the American Picture Book in China

This fall, Leonard will give a series of five programs for students and faculty at Ocean University of China, in Qingdao, China. These programs will introduce the key traditions of book-making for young children in the West, and give insight into understanding of childhood, and influence of art, literature, and culture, in the making of simple-seeming illustrated books that have captivated generations of Western readers, and which are increasingly becoming known throughout the world. The programs will run from Monday October 29 through Friday November 2.
